About me…

I’m a British environmental storyteller: a documentary filmmaker, photographer, researcher, writer and artist. I use storytelling as a way to bring attention to stories which matter most, focusing on the intersection between human culture and the natural world; be that conservation stories or social documentary.

Working on documentaries for broadcast TV and streaming services within the natural history and wildlife genre, I work as a researcher, camera assistant, and drone pilot. In addition, I also produce, direct and work as a principle camera operator on smaller, independent films, for the likes of NGOs.

My specialisms include ecosystem restoration, conservation issues, illegal fishing and the global wildlife trade, environmental justice, historical ecology, land rights, climate change and sustainable farming.

As a film-maker my experience has included working with companies and NGOs including IMPACTWILD, BBC Studios, Blue Marine Foundation, ZSL, ZDF, National Lobster Hatchery, Land Workers Alliance and Kinward. My footage has been broadcast on national and international media including the BBC, ITV, ZDF and World Economic Forum.

​Before becoming a film-maker, I worked as a researcher for several environmental NGOs and as a conservation biologist. This gives me specialist knowledge, along with insight into many of the issues faced by the people and places whose stories I work hard to document.

In an age of planetary and societal crises, storytelling plays a vital role in humanising issues that we otherwise find hard to comprehend. Unlike numbers or facts, stories can trigger an emotional response, which helps drive social change.

Having worked for multiple organisations, encompassing climate change, poverty alleviation, nature campaigning, marine protected areas, and on-the-ground conservation, these experiences led me to realise that A. there’s so much incredible work going on that needs more attention and appreciation, and B. most of this work is fighting a losing battle without large scale system/societal change. Using my existing knowledge, research and field skills, I secured my first job in wildlife film-making in 2022 and have been trying to learn as much as possible to be able to tell these stories since then.

I have been fortunate enough to be awarded to grants by Screenskills UK, who have helped me purchase essential film equipment and undertake drone qualifications.

Last but not least, I am also a proud member of the Wildlife Camerawomen Community - an international community of Wildlife Film & TV Cinematographers, and Filmmakers for Future: Wildlife - an international grassroots community for anyone working in wildlife film/TV wanting to help build a greener and non extractive industry.
